One Fare Program Eliminates Double Fares by February 26

On February 26, the TTC entered the One Fare payment program to eliminate double fares on local transit systems. Transit riders will now receive a free, two-hour transfer between the TTC and Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay, and York Region Transit.

The GO Transit co-fare discount will come into effect on March 14, providing even greater savings to transit users across the GTA. TTC riders transferring to or from GO Transit within a three-hour period will receive a fare discount, making their TTC fare free. As the former TTC Chair, I strongly supported regional fare and cross-boundary integration and I am very pleased to see the One Fare system now implemented for transit riders.

The One Fare program applies to youth, adult, post-secondary students, seniors, and TTC Fair Discount Pass customers. Riders paying with a PRESTO card, PRESTO card in a Google Wallet, debit or credit card, will be eligible under the new program. For more information, click here.
