FIFA World Cup 2026 - Match Schedule Confirmed

On February 4, it was announced that Toronto will be hosting six matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026—including the first Canadian match. I know that our city will be ready to cheer on the Canadian Men’s National team in their first-ever FIFA World Cup match played on home soil.

Toronto will be hosting the following six matches:

  • June 12, 2026 – Group Stage, Canadian Men’s National Team opener

  • June 17, 2026 – Group Stage

  • June 20, 2026 – Group Stage

  • June 23, 2026 – Group Stage

  • June 26, 2026 – Group Stage

  • July 2, 2026 – Round of 32

The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Draw will determine match pairings and kick-off times in late 2025. In total, there are 16 North American host cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Based on analysis undertaken using the Sport Tourism Economic Assessment Model last fall, the World Cup is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including $392 million gross domestic product (GDP) for the City of Toronto and $456 million GDP for the Province of Ontario. These figures are expected to increase now that Toronto will be hosting a confirmed six matches.
